Researchers of the Poznan University of Technology are winners of the awards of the Prime Minister

Jakub Zdarta and Stanisław Pabiszczak were awarded for scientific achievements and an outstanding doctoral dissertation. The team appointed by the Prime Minister decided that the scientific achievements of prof. Jakub Zdarta from the Faculty of Chemical Technology of the Poznan University of Technology, which was the basis for granting him postdoctoral degree. His research focuses on the design of biocatalytic systems and their role in biomass conversion processes and the disposal of selected environmental pollutants.

In the justification, the jury wrote that the award was granted for the design and production of innovative, multifunctional, with a strictly defined structure, biocatalytic systems based on immobilized enzymes for biomass conversion and removal of environmental micropollutants, as well as for characterizing the obtained systems in terms of activity description, stability and evaluation of parameters applications.

“The award is a huge achievement. It is a kind of summary of the last few years of scientific activity and proof that involvement in research works makes sense. I would also like to thank everyone who contributed even a small brick to this award because without them this success would not have been possible,” says the laureate.

Design, technology and testing of rolling eccentric gears – a doctoral thesis of  Stanisław Pabiszczak, PhD from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering became the basis for the award in the category of an outstanding doctoral dissertation.

Justification: for presenting the complete process of developing an advanced product, which is a rolling eccentric gear, to the technological level enabling the transfer of results to the industry. Through publications and patents, it contributes to the recognition of excellent Polish engineering in the international industrial environment, in particular in the automotive industry.

“The award of the Prime Minister is an undoubted ennoblement for me, especially since inventions in the field of mechanical engineering, in the era of the digital revolution, seem to be a relic of the past (fortunately, only seemingly). The idea for the gear, which is the subject of my doctoral thesis, was born in 2016, and it took several years to develop its geometry, construction and technology. That is why I am particularly content that my efforts were appreciated. I would also like to thank all the people who offered their advice, help and experience during the work" - said Stanislaw Pabiszczak.
