University of Catania hosted the international meeting of EUNICE partnership from 6th to 7th June to discuss REUNICE’s next milestones

The University of Catania hosted, from 6th to 7th June in Sicily (Italy), the first international meeting of REUNICE, project which aims to boost research within EUNICE, the European University for Customised Education. More than 20 project managers gathered in this coordination meeting to discuss the next milestones approaching.

YOUNG RESEARCHERS FROM PUT AWARDED BY THE PAS

Piotr Kuwałek, PhD from the Faculty of Automatic Control, Robotics and Electrical Engineering and Przemysław Galek, MSc. from the Faculty of Chemical Technology were awarded and honoured in the 10th edition of the competition for the best creative work with the leading participation of doctoral students. On 7th June 2022, the Poznan Branch of the Polish Academy of Sciences organized the 100th session of the General Assembly combined with the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the Branch.

The network of autonomous polygons

PUT among the signatories of the agreement for construction and development of the network of autonomous polygons. The agreement signed by the prof. Teofil Jesionowski, the Rector of the Poznan University of Technology, included support for the development of unmanned systems technology in Poland and stimulation of scientific and research as well as business cooperation by making available specialized, previously unavailable test infrastructure.

EUROPEAN ROBOTICS WEEK WITH STUDENTS OF PUT

The tests of innovative rescue missions will take place at the Kąkolewo Campus on June 20 - 24, 2022. Young engineers will conduct simulations of real rescue operations and crises using technologically advanced drones and robots. The event that enables teams from the Poznan University of Technology to take part in the tests is the International European Robotics League (ERL) competition. The tournament is organized periodically in several European countries.

WOMEN IN TECH SUMMIT 2022 - SUMMARY

Perspektywy Women in Tech Summit is a favourite event for women and not only from the Tech and IT industry in Europe.  This year, ten thousand participants registered, and as many as six thousand participated in a stationary event in Warsaw!


The Summit was held in a hybrid form. Two days offline and online full of knowledge, fresh ideas, meetings with great persons, job opportunities and networking.

PROF. AGNIESZKA ŁAWRYNOWICZ WAS AWARDED THE RESEARCHERS OF THE FUTURE AWARD

The award was presented to the researcher of the Faculty of Computing and Telecommunications during the Intelligent Development Forum, which took place in Uniejów.

Prof. Agnieszka Ławrynowicz conducts research related to artificial intelligence. The project realized with the support of the Norwegian Funds and the National Center for Research and Development "TAISTI - artificial intelligence technologies for recommending substitutes for ingredients in cooking recipes" brought her recognition.

PUT joined the group of signatories of the university declaration of social responsibility

On 2nd June 2022 at the invitation of the Minister of Development Funds and Regional Policy and the Minister of Education and Science during the conference "Experiences, practices and challenges of university social responsibility", on behalf of the Rector of the Poznan University of Technology, prof. Agnieszka Misztal, the Vice-Rector for Student Affairs and Education signed a declaration of social responsibility.

PUT STRENGTHENS COOPERATION WITH POLICE IN POZNAN REGION

The scope of cooperation will include the construction and use of unmanned aerial vehicles as well as unmanned floating and underwater objects for the operational needs of the Police.

Signed by the superintendent Piotr Mąka - Provincial Police Commander and prof. Teofil Jesionowski - Rector of the Poznan University of Technology, the agreement is multi-faceted. It concerns, inter alia, training, conferences, internships, and apprenticeships, as well as research and development and implementation works.
