The pandemic has largely disrupted our life in the last two years, hence we are starting the academic year with the hope of a safe return to the traditional form of work and study. In accordance with the current recommendations of the Ministry of Education and Science, we would like to provide each of you with direct contact with the university, as well as restore academic life without fear. We do not forget, however, that the threat of the coronavirus still exists. Modern medicine defines vaccinations as the most effective form of combating infectious diseases.
The organizational meetings for first-year students were held at the Faculty of Automatic Control, Robotics and Electrical Engineering on Friday, October 1. This year, the meeting was held for the first time for students of the new field of study - Electromobility.
Prof. Teofil Jesionowski welcomes the academic community (students, doctoral students and employees) to the inauguration of the academic year 2021/2022.
The entire team was presented today. During the press conference, the rector of the Poznan University of Technology, prof. Teofil Jesionowski said that the university focuses on academic sports. "Today, I declare that we will strengthen this potential" - added prof. Jesionowski.
On September 24-26, 2021, the representation of the Academic Aviation Club of the Poznan University of Technology participated in the 14th Polish Academic Accuracy Landing Championships and the AKL-STOL Academic Aviation Conference "Students (not) Only about Aviation".
Prof. Piotr Sielicki from PUT and his team assessed the possibility of performing further exploration works in buried corridors carved in basalt during World War II. An analysis was also made regarding the existence of new corridors in this facility. Technologies developed as part of a project co-financed by the National Center for Research and Development are used in this project.
The Faculty of Computing and Telecommunications of the Poznan University of Technology and the City of Poznan have the pleasure to invite academic community to an open lecture entitled „Chemistry and RNA Evolution”, which will be presented by prof. Eric Westhof from the University of Strasbourg in France. The lecture will be held on October 7, at 11:30 in room 8 at the Lecture Center of the Poznan University of Technology.
The scientist from the Institute of Radiocommunications at the Faculty of Computing and Telecommunications swam 3.8 km (swimming), cycled 180 km (cycling), and run 42.2 km (running) in 9:16:23. He competed in the jubilee 20th edition of the triathlon competition Castle Triathlon Malbork, in the M35 category (age 35-39). He describes his time as sensational. In the general classification in the Garmin Iron Triathlon Nieporęt 2021 competition, in the half distance of Ironman, Marcin Rodziewicz with a time of 04:29:51 took 3rd place.

Three professors from the Poznan University of Technology are on the list of ten IT specialists with the highest Hirsch index in the Guide2Research ranking. Prof. Roman Słowiński is the first person on the list, prof. Jacek Błażewicz is fifth and prof. Jerzy Stefanowski is sixth. Scientists are working at the Faculty of Computing and Telecommunications. The seventh edition of the Top Computer Science Scientists in Poland ranking was published by research.com. It includes the Hirsch index, publications and citations.
