First edition of the Logistics Day organized by FEM and SSG "Logistics".

On March 16, 2016 at the Conference Centre of Poznan University of Technology, The First Logistics Day took place.

The event was organized by Faculty of Engineering Management and Student Scientific Group "Logistics".

The aim of the event was to encourage invited students from technical schools to study the logistics at Poznan University of Technology.

The Logistics Day started at 10.00 a.m. from welcoming the participants by Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Engineering Management – Ph.D. Hanna Włodarkiewicz - Klimek.




The invited schools included:

• Technical school ZS1 in Swarzędz;

• Complex of Building Schools in Konin;

• Complex of Upper Secondary Schools in Krotoszyn;

• Complex of Economics Schools in Leszno;

• Complex of Vocational School No. 1 in Poznan.

After the official part, there was the first speech presented by the representative of Poznan cosmetics company – Filip Odważny: "Lean is fashionable. The concept of Lean Management at Beiersdorf Manufacturing Poznań."

The key point of the program was a logistic game led by Ph.D. Eng. Piotr Cyplik on the inventory management in the enterprise.

After the common part, the students went on a workshops run by members of the Scientific Association "Logistics". Each school has been divided into several smaller groups that took part in two of the following workshops:

  • Simulation of the production line,
  • Lean - as a tool to support the supply chain,
  • Production Planning for production schedule optimization,
  • Procurement, where participants realized tasks from the area of supplies.

At the end, approx. 3 p.m. participants received the certificates of participation, gifts for schools and prizes for the best results in the logistics game.


The event met with a very positive reception among the invited guests, what makes everyone very happy. Let’s meet on another edition of that event!
